Monsters A - Z

Beetle
Beetle Cannonfodder

This crafty little fighter is a little tougher than the Fly, and can take more hits before going to our father below! It is still regarded with scorn by the greater fighters nonetheless. It is efficient for sacrifice combinations and gives an interesting perspective when possessed..

Skills: Attack

Bile Demon
Where's the beef?

These are among the most voracious monsters. They can work hard though, if well fed. They are a bit on the slow side, but good warriors and break wind readily if given a chance in combat, and have become immune to poison gas. Attracted by hatchery or lair if either is minimum 25 tiles. Do not slap them when they aren't working. They will fight skeletons if forced to share lair with them.

Bile Demon
Skills: Attack, Breath of poison, Fart of Death, Squeal Bomb

Dark Mistress
Dark Mistress Beat me honey - I've been bad!

This Mistress of Pain is a sado-masochistic creature if there ever was one. She likes to spend days in the torture chamber, watching, but she also likes a downright spanking. She is attracted with the torture chamber if it is at least nine squares.

Skills: Attack, Lightning, Speed Monster, Fire Lightning, Teleport

Demon Spawn
Dragonwhelps

Train these often. They will eventually grow into dragons once they reach level 10. Can walk over lava unscathed due to their scaly hides.

Demon Spawn
Skills: Attack, Red Bomb, Squeal Bomb

Dragon
Dragon The Grand Old One

An excellent mage, fighter and can withstand much punishment prior to perishing. A real asset in any fight to turn the tables on the enemy.

Skills: Flame, Heal, Squeel Bomb, Meteor, Word of Power

Fly
The basic scout

A small and easily killed creature, yet useful as reconnaisance units, revealing much of the map. Will fight spiders if forced to share lair with them. Rumored to have hidden uses.

Fly
Skills: Attack, Sight of Evil.

Ghost
Ghost Researchers

Spends most of their time in the library. Created from tortured victims. They require no food. Versatile scouts, as they can go undetected with the Conceal creature spell. They cast spells at a high skilllevel. But unfortunately they die very easily the second time.

Skills: Attack, Invisibility, Reflect, Tempest, Fire Lightning

Hell Hound
"Woof!"

A fast runner and a good fighter who can walk over lava. Is very reliable and almost never turns on you. Barks to warn you of intruders. And they have a most peculiar habit of cocking their legs on the dead in the graveyard to aid decomposition.

Hell Hound
Skills: Attack, Speed monster, Flame

Horned Reaper
Horned Reaper Mr. Muscle

Fast and strong. The biggest monster that can be attracted to your dungeon using the normal methods. Take care when handling these, as they tend to be temperamental. A loner who won't group with others - not even other Reapers. Must be attracted by special means or else will refrain from entering your lair.

Skills: Attack, Speed Monster, Slow monster

Imp
The backbone of your Dungeon

The caretakers who remove corpses, fit traps, dig tunnels, reinforce walls and bake that special poison cake for halloween that you're so fond of. They're never unhappy, and are well worth training as they become quicker and eventually learn to teleport.

Imp
Skills: Dig/Claim, Attack, Speed Monster, Teleport

Orc
Orc Mr red ´n´ ugly

Your standard monster - nothing fancy before he acquires the lightning skill. He is attracted to your lair by training room (9 tiles) and barracks (1 tile).

Skills: Attack, Protection, Squeel Bomb, Speed Monster

Skeleton
Prison leftovers

This fighter is nothing out of the ordinary, but easy to create by letting your prisoners starve in jail. They will eventually die and rise as skeleton warriors. Slightly faster than the orc. There is no love lost between skeletons and Bile Demons - so don't force them to share lair.

Skeleton
Skills: Attack, Protection, Lightning

Spider
Spider Weak but evil

Will sometimes go to the prison to zap prisoners for the mere fun of it. The side effect of this is that the prisoners don't starve as fast when "frozen". Detests flies and will attack them if forced to share lair with them. Stronger than the Beetle.

Skills: Attack, Slow, Web Hold

Tentacles
Turn Coat

This is a pretty tough creature. It loves water, and gains the freeze spell quite early. Do not annoy it, as it will join the enemy if that is the case. The possess spell gives a wavy view of things.

Tentacles
Skills: Attack, Freeze spell

Troll
Troll Craftsman

Better in the workshop than in the battlefield as they are only adequate fighters. Very good workers though and don't complain very much. They are attracted by a workshop with minimum 1 tile.

Skills: Attack, Speed Monster, Squeel Bomb

Vampire
Top notch Sorceror

With a Vampire around, you can breathe easily. They are excellent spellcasters and a fearsome adversary. When they attain the third level they become immortal, raising themselves in their lair when they die. Third level also marks the time when they become master researchers. Let it scavenge in the scavenger room. When alone on the map, this raises your portal attraction by half again. And do not force them to sleep with warlocks - they will fight.

Vampire
Skills: Attack, Fireball, Heal, Meteor, Invisibility, Red Bomb, Sight of Evil, Tempest, Word of Power

Warlock
Warlock Researcher

These spell casters have a wider range of spells than even the dragons. They are very skilled at researching but lousy fighters and slow. Make sure you train them to extend their range of spells. Do everything possible to please them, as they become annoyed easily, and will lead rebellions. Not at all fond of vampires, and fight them at every given (and taken) chance.

Skills: Attack, Fly, Slow, Teleport, Heal, Fire Lightning, Protection, Tempest
