The graphics
will be just as alive as we know it from
Magic Carpet II. Bullfrog created a
totally new graphics engine for the game
- but probably while taking notes from MC
II. The monsters will, as in Diablo, 2D
pictures of 3D rendered creatures to
speed up the framerate. And if your CPU
can handle the math fast enough - you can
select true lighting which creates
real-time shadows - which looks very
impressive in the screenshots weve
seen so far. Gouraud shading is also an
option. To spare the processor, Gouraud
shading merely calculates a few spots on
the surface of an object and then
interpolates (like most scanners
nowadays).
As a new feature - there will be three
different views:
|
Top-down with a
quad map
|
|
Isometric view
(Diablo style)
|
|
Monsterperspective
- this lets you click on a
monster and enter its body so you
can join the battle with a first
person view of things.
