Dungeon Keeper will be a game
like no other You will be granted a
remote piece of land, where you can mine
a hole in the rock and settle in with
your imps.
When
the first adventurers show up (their
eternal greed always driving them towards
your nether realm) you kill them, salvage
their equipment and wait for the two you
let get away to spread the rumor so even
more adventurers come around! The newly
aquired gold, can fund a new guard -
maybe a giant spider - or if you have
enough gold - hire a couple of vampires.
And if
trouble comes looking for you, and you've
just sent the guards on summer vacation -
you may actually have to get up from
counting your gold and give a hand
yourself.
You will only have imps to begin with.
According to Bullfrog
(and I believe them) they will be the
most intelligent
computer creatures to date. You can tell
them to take care of different tasks
around the cave, such as expansion and
maintenance. If you don't give them any
chores, they will start cleaning up and
strengthen defences around their own pen.
And do listen up when strolling the
tunnels, for Bullfrog has created a
brand-new sound
engine.
During the excavations you can get
lucky and strike a gold ore, or you might
collide with the halls of another Dungeon
Keeper and suddenly be the in the wrong
end of an invasion. To make matters worse
you could also hit the chambers of an
ancient evil creature. Only time and a
couple thousand shovelfulls of dirt will
tell which it will be.
